Michael Overstrom began making jewelry thirty years ago. He is a self-taught artist who believes that creativity is the most important part of his craft, and this belief is reflected in the beautiful, original pieces found at Overstrom Studio.
A purchase by Georgia's state art collection in 1980; inclusion in the international Museum Show in 1982 for USA, Portrait of the South, Mint Museum; and an introduction by the American Craft Council in Spotlight in 1982 gave him his start as a studio artist.
His commercial success in Fine Jewelry Design began with his Wedding Ring Collection in the early 1990's. Michael focused his work on the Australian Opal, which became a defining design direction for future projects.
In 1999, he started his own studio, Overstrom Studio, located in a combination loft and gallery on Wall Street in historic Asheville, North Carolina. Overstrom Studio is now celebrating its 10th year in business. |
